Our Story

Our Story

In 1994, two student friends started from scratch building up the business EDT with a vision to become one of the leading display manufacturing companies worldwide, offering the highest Quality, Technology, Service and Value to our customers.

Technology has evolved rapidly, and so have we! Initially focused on Monochrome displays, over time we expanded our product portfolio to include TFT displays and among the first to adopt Capacitive Touch technology. Today, we are more than just a touch display manufacturer – we are your User Machine Interface (UMI) Solution Provider. Our solutions combine displays, touch panels, cover lens and boards to deliver complete user interface solutions for your products.

Founded in Taiwan since 1994, EDT provides advanced visual display solutions for the electronics marketplace. Our offerings and technologies have evolved across various marketplaces. Today, we are a comprehesive UMI Solution Provider based on the specialty in TFT displays, Capacitive Touch and further to Smart Embedded® solutions. We have an extensive portfolio of standard products and offer flexible design options for custom solutions.

Operation Strategy

We have embraced a multi-faceted strategy which includes richly cultivating integration of various technologies and adding product solutions for the value market segment. Step by step, we continuously have been establishing lean production with low volume-high mix capabilities, and maximizing the utilization of resources to make strides in an important core value, “waste elimination”. Additionally, we are evolving to support the latest quality certifications and to promote contemporary management systems. During the first phase, we established MES (Manufacturing Execution System) to achieve optimization of manufacturing quality and Pull-APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) to promote manufacturing efficiency. Both systems (MES & Pull-APS) complement each other to achieve lean manufacturing objectives while maintaining high quality and advancing efficiency.
