Traditional displays with unfiltered LED lighting can interfere with NVIS because they emit significant energy in the Infrared (IR) region (600 nm to 1000 nm). Excess IR radiation can conflict with night vision functionality, causing issues like blooming (halo effects) and ghosting (IR reflections). This study proposes a new patented LED backlight design that complies with NVIS standards and allows users to switch the LED light sources between the day and night mode on a display. Thereby, EDT NVIS technology can provide compact and robust display design and solve the overexposure issues while using night vision goggles with common monitors.
