Traditional displays with unfiltered LED lighting can interfere with NVIS because they emit significant energy in the Infrared (IR) region (600 nm to 1000 nm). Excess IR radiation can conflict with night vision functionality, causing issues like blooming (halo effects) and ghosting (IR reflections). This study proposes an LED backlight design that complies with NVIS standards by limiting red and near-infrared light emissions, thereby solving overexposure issues when using night vision goggles with common monitors.
